Credit Repair Scams |
| |
|
Don't let your financial situation get
worse! |
If you are having credit and debt troubles, you may have been
paying more attention to the many credit repair programs which
promise to clean up or fix your bad credit. These programs
appeal to those who suffer from bad or poor credit. Many people
expect that these programs can help them get out of the bad
debt and therefore they can enjoy a new-found freedom from the
past debts.
Some people may feel these programs sound too good to be true,
but they can not resist the promising future these credit
repair programs claim. They may pay hefty fees to clean up
their bad credit record and fall prey to the bad credit repair
scammers.
The credit repair scammers just report to the credit bureaus
that the negative information in someone's file is false. The
credit bureaus will investigate the claim and during the time
of investigation, this negative information will be removed
from the report. Then these credit repair scammers will show
their clients the cleaned up version of their credit report and
make them believe that the credit history has been fixed. They
finish their task and get paid.
However, after the credit bureau completes their investigation,
the negative information will be placed back on your credit
report if the bureau finds that the negative information is
indeed correct!
Of course, there are many legitimate companies that can help
you with your credit problems. The most important thing is how
to spot a scam. Just keep in mind that the credit repair scam
will require the fees beforehand. Actually, the clients only
pay after they get the services promised. In addition, you
should be aware that some credit repair services may attempt to
get your personal information. Make sure that you are dealing
with a reputable credit service... Getting involved with a
credit repair scammer could also expose you to identity theft -
which would make your financial situation even
worse!
